Preschool Director Job Description

General Description

The Preschool Director is responsible for all aspects of establishing and operating a morning and afternoon preschool program for children ages 2 years through pre-kindergarten. This includes leadership of marketing and advertisement, staff recruitment, child enrollment processes, curriculum development, classroom management, staff development, and preschool profit and loss.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Lead a team of teachers and other staff in the establishment and operation of a Christian preschool, including day-to-day operation and routine special events.
  2. Develop and implement a marketing/advertisement plan that creates interest in the preschool and fuels strong enrollment in both morning and afternoon programs.
  3. Recruit and train teachers and other staff as needed to staff preschool classrooms and special events.
  4. Establish enrollment processes that ensure children are enrolled efficiently, acclimated smoothly into their classroom, and monitored to ensure success.
  5. Function as primary contact person for parents/guardians on enrollment, assimilation, progress, and all other matters pertaining to the preschool.
  6. Regularly select and/or develop curriculum for a preschool children’s education program that is fun, educational, and appropriate for a Christian preschool environment.
  7. Implement classroom management practices that ensure a safe, secure, and orderly preschool environment is maintained at all times.
  8. Regularly monitor, evaluate, and develop preschool staff ensuring a “continuous learning” culture is developed and fostered and that classroom management practices are continuously improved.
  9. Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of children’s ministry facilities and grounds.
  10. Develop an annual budget for the preschool ensuring needs are met and profitability targets are realized.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

This position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as a leader in a children’s education capacity. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field is required. The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic, possess a passion for teaching children, and have the ability to function as an administrator. Other requirements include a teaching certificate and a CPR certification. A working knowledge of creative programming related to children’s classes and special events is a real plus.

Outreach Pastor Job Description

General Description

The Outreach Pastor is responsible for all aspects of connecting YOUR CHURCH to the community. This includes marketing, advertising, special events, Christian church college/university partnerships, and leadership of all (local, regional, national, and international) missions efforts.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Lead a team of paid staff and volunteers in the accomplishment of all aspects of ensuring YOUR CHURCH maintains and improves its outreach focus.
  2. Function as owner and champion of all external marketing activities maximizing attendance of special outreach-focused events, key evangelistic sermon series, and any other activity requiring external marketing support.
  3. Establish strategic relationships with local advertising outlets and ensure continuous awareness of YOUR CHURCH in the community.
  4. Champion the use of the church website and all social media outlets as vehicles for the promotion of and engagement in the church.
  5. Work with church staff to continuously create new events and other venues for inviting new people to eventually become regular attendees of YOUR CHURCH services.
  6. Establish and manage strategic relationships with Christian church colleges and universities.
  7. Lead YOUR CHURCH’s internship program in support of Christian church college and university partnerships.
  8. Organize and lead YOUR CHURCH’s local, regional, national, and international missions efforts.
  9. Coordinate the execution of annual special offerings, ensuring missions efforts are fully funded.
  10. Function as a member of YOUR CHURCH’s pastoral staff performing baptism services, weddings, funerals, etc. as part of a rotation schedule.
  11. Develop an annual departmental budget and manage spending to budget.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

This position requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience as a staff member in a ministry leadership capacity. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical studies or a related field is required. (Extensive ministry experience, in some cases, can be substituted.) The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic and the ability to administrate as a department head. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, church management software, web configuration/maintenance, and other related applications are preferred.

Operations Pastor Job Description

General Description

The Operations Pastor is responsible for all aspects of ensuring the church is operationally strong through leadership and coordination of all church operations activities from weekend service preparation and logistics through ongoing care and maintenance of church facilities and grounds. This includes overall “operational readiness” as it pertains to churchwide volunteer coordination, operational infrastructure development, facilities program management, supply replenishment, information technology programs and support, security, and operational oversight of the church’s multisite infrastructure.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Lead a team of volunteers and paid staff ensuring a constant and continuously improving state of operational readiness of all YOUR CHURCH campuses.
  2. Function as the church’s “Volunteer Coordinator” with oversight and authority as it relates to volunteer recruitment, orientation, and ongoing oversight of all church volunteers.
  3. Develop a Volunteer Growth Strategy that ensures numerical growth, overall development, deployment, and recognition of all church volunteers.
  4. Strengthen operational infrastructure through the development and implementation of key systems, processes, and methods.
  5. Champion overall improvement in the church’s operational readiness in all areas by working with and influencing department leaders to value and build strong operational capabilities in their different ministry areas.
  6. Develop and implement a formal “facilities program” that ensures the timely completion of both preventive and corrective maintenance on all church equipment, facilities, and grounds.
  7. Build a team of staff, contractors, and/or volunteers that perform the various facilities maintenance activities required to ensure constant operational readiness as it relates to church facilities and grounds.
  8. Create a supply replenishment process that ensures continuous availability of consumable supplies for all areas of the church.
  9. Recruit and oversee staff and/or volunteers needed to properly staff all church supply replenishment processes.
  10. Support the implementation and ongoing oversight of church information technology (IT) infrastructure (internet connectivity, firewall(s), VOIP, network cabling, WIFI networks, etc.) enabling growth and the accomplishment of the church’s mission.
  11. Recruit and oversee contractor(s) and/or volunteers needed to properly maintain and expand the church’s IT infrastructure.
  12. Develop and implement a formal Emergency Operations Plan ensuring the church is prepared for and capable of handling anything that might constitute an emergency.
  13. Within the framework of the Emergency Operations Plan, recruit and oversee security, parking, and other teams needed to ensure operational readiness as it relates to safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
  14. Function as overall project manager and operations coordinator for the implementation of the church’s multi-site strategy.
  15. Lead launch teams as needed to ensure the church launches campuses on time and within established budget.
  16. Oversee everything operationally at each of YOUR CHURCH’s campuses.
  17. Function as a member of YOUR CHURCH’s Pastoral Staff performing baptism services, weddings, funerals, etc. as requested.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

This position requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience as operations professional in a corporate or church environment. Possession of operations, business, or related degree is required. (Extensive ministry experience, in some cases, can be substituted.)  The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic and will possess a ministry mindset with the ability and inclination to lead and develop volunteers. Working knowledge of web and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

The Elementary Pastor is responsible for the leadership and direction of the elementary division of children’s ministry.  This includes volunteer recruitment, training, and development; management and direction of elementary classrooms; lead teaching and coaching of lead teachers; and curriculum selection and preparation.

  6. Identify and develop lead teaching passion and skills in others to ensure elementary division staff is always available for the church’s next growth milestone.
  7. Participate in the identification of curriculum and adapt it for use in elementary division classrooms.
  8. Direct the development of teaching materials as needed for weekly services.
  9. With support from the Arts Department, supervise and coach technical arts volunteers as needed to produce weekly services.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

This position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an elementary school teacher and/or church staff leader in children’s ministry.  Possession of a teaching or related degree is required.  (Extensive ministry experience, in some cases, can be substituted.)  The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic as well as a passion for teaching children about God and developing them spiritually.  Working knowledge of Pro Presenter and other classroom production tools is preferred.

Creative Producer Job Description

General Description

The Creative Producer is responsible for the overall coordination and administration of the creative design process from Teaching Team direction setting through production of weekend services. This includes coordinating communication between Arts ministry staff and volunteer team leaders/members and ensuring timely production of all weekend service creative elements.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Support the Worship Arts Pastor and other Arts team members in the creative design and production of weekend services and special events.
  2. Regularly review the sermon calendar and communicate the need for information or clarification to the Worship Arts Pastor.
  3. Work with the Service Design Team to document creative service elements and production ideas in Planning Center as the central location for all media associated with a particular series/weekend service.
  4. Produce all media files (sermon slides, lyrics, images, etc.) as needed for weekend services and special events.
  5. Create and distribute all required documentation (cue sheets, volunteer schedules, information sheets, work instructions, etc.) for each weekend service or special event.
  6. Function as administrator/coordinator for the Arts tech team, keeping team members informed and ready to serve.
  7. Function as the primary programmer for lighting systems in the main auditorium, working with volunteer operators responsible for lighting during weekend services and special events.
  8. Function as Technical Director in the tech booth coordinating activities for rehearsals and live production; ensuring issues are resolved quickly and with minimal negative impact on weekend services and special events.
  9. Specify, obtain, and organize all Arts ministry supplies ( batteries, light bulbs, gaffers tape, hazer fluid, etc.) ensuring a continuous supply.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

This position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as a staff member in an Arts ministry or other related production support capacity. Possession of a BS/BA Degree in Business, Theater, Film, Video Production, Graphic Design or related field is a plus. The successful individual will be a self-starter, organized, and possess the ability to see major projects through to completion, resolving issues as needed along the way. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ProPresenter, and other related production applications is required along with significant knowledge of and experience with internet resource gathering.
